BHSU Basketball Fans wear HOT PINK
to Raise Funds for Local Scholarship
Spearfish, S.D., Jan. 6, 2017 —The Kenadi Jean Weis Foundation is hosting a Hot Pink Out basketball night during the Yellow Jackets home game against Mexico Highlands to fundraise for their annual scholarship.
This fundraiser event will benefit the Kenadi Jean Weis Memorial Scholarship awarded annually to a graduating BHSU Senior majoring in the Special Education Program. Attendees are encouraged to wear hot pink clothing and participate in a night full of children’s activities, half-time entertainment, 50/50 tickets, a silent auction and fatbike raffle with all proceeds going toward the scholarship.
The Kenadi Jean “Hot Pink Out” basketball night will take place Friday, Jan. 6, 2017 with the Lady Jackets taking the floor at 5:30 p.m. and the Jackets playing at 7:30 p.m.
After Kenadi Jean passed away unexpectedly at age five, her family started a non-profit foundation to assist children with special needs in the community.
“Kenadi loved playing basketball and was the proud recipient of several pieces of Future Yellow Jacket gear. Although faced with global delays from an anoxic birth injury she displayed great bravery, determination and a fighting Jacket spirit,” said a representative from the foundation.
