DON’T PRETEND TO BE SURPRISED: GRASS STAIN REMOVER IS ALREADY IN YOUR PANTRY

When the kids come home after a long day playing, there are a few things you need to know about how to get grass stains out of their clothes. Grass stain remover can easily be made from a few simple items already in your pantry! Thanks to our friends at Merry Maids of Rapid City for the inspiration!

Materials needed:

  • White vinegar
  • Cup of water
  • Baking Soda or Dawn Soap
  • Toothbrush

In a small bucket or sink, place your child’s stained item. With half a cup of white vinegar, mix in a cup of water and two tablespoons of baking soda. If you don’t have baking soda, squeeze three tablespoons of Dawn Soap. Mix and brush the mixture with a toothbrush directly onto the stain and allow it to sit for up to thirty minutes.

Similarly, you can use a Tide to-go stain remover stick to pretreat the stain. The garment should be placed in a mixture of warm water and detergent and sit for fifteen minutes.

The stain will begin to lift, so rinse the garment, and soak it again in cool water mixed with ½ cup of white vinegar. Depending on the toughness of the stain, rinse the garment again, gently rub a small amount of laundry soap, and run through the wash cycle as normal before hanging to dry.

Now, your kids are ready for another day at play!
