A Day to Celebrate – August 3, 1870
Why?
Did you know there was an Ingalls in the Black Hills? Caroline Celstia Ingalls – better known as “Baby Carrie” from the Little House on the Prairie – lived in Keystone for over 30 years, marrying town local David Swanzey and raising his two children. Every year on August 3, the Keystone Historical Museum and the Keystone Area Historical Society celebrates her birthday!
This year, the party will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the museum – located in the old Keystone School at 410 3rd Street. View the old classrooms housing exhibits, enjoy cake and lemonade and partake in gunny sack races, crafts, and a coloring contest!
Dress as your favorite Ingalls character and celebrate!
